Abstract
560,099. Two-part couplings. BAKER, C., and BILL, R. W. Sept. 14, 1942, No. 12907. [Class 38 (i)] Contact blades a<3> projecting from a fuse box &c. a are inserted into a conduit c to engage directly with the mains or bus-bars b in the conduit, and are clamped by plates g suspended on a rotatable insulated spindle d and backed by blocks f, the clamping pressure being applied by a block h cooperating with the screwed end of the spindle d. The blocks f and plates g are located within U- shaped plates k that are slotted to receive and support the busbars. The spindle d is turned by arms e at its ends, the ends of the arms being hooked to co-operate with catches l on the box a and act as fastenings. A second clamping block h<2> is either free on the spindle d or co-operates with a left-hand thread.
