Abstract
282,144. Nettl, R. Sept. 13. 1926. Couplings comprise the following combination of parts, namely, a one-piece terminal blockd having a circular conical or domed top f with grooves in its face to accommodate the supply wires and wherein they are clamped by the internal coned surface off a one-piece insulating cap g, the said surface having circular or other non- axial clamping grooves that enable the cap to have a rotary movement while being drawn down to clamp the wires, two parallel holes in the terminal block to accommodate the terminals, and two lateral holes k to receive set-screws by which the terminals are secured. The cord-grip cap g may be enclosed in a metal cap c, Fig. 1, connected to the holder by a union nut b, or it may project from a union nut p, Fig. 10, that screws into another ring b or directly on to the casing, or the insulating cap may screw directly on to the terminal block as shown in Fig. 9. One of the Provisional Specifications states that the device may be applied to ceiling roses or plates. Specifications 6269/99 and 15247/03, [both in Class 39, Electric lamps &c.], 6395/12, and 253,221 are referred to.
