559,691. Bean slicers. PILGRIM, E. A. E. Aug. 19, 1942, No. 11664. [Class 5 (i)] Beans to be sliced are pushed into a tube 2 having stationary transverse knives 1, in known stepped formation. The sides of the tube may have removable covers ; one cover acts as an abutment for the ends of the knives, and beneath the other cover the tube is recessed to facilitate handling of the knives in replacement. One end of the tube is flared to prevent jamming and the other has a guide flange or extension 8 which may be clamped to a table or dresser.
