Abstract

559,625. Actuation of switches. SIEMENSSCHUCKERT (GREAT BRITAIN). Ltd., and WHITE, A. Aug. 24, 1942, No.11906. [Class 38 (v)] A cam actuated switch has its closed period regulated by a control member adjustable to vary the extent to which the operated member lies in the path of the operating cam. Thus contact 1 is moved to contact with contact 2 by a cam 5 rotated on a spindle 10. A stationary cam 9 regulates the angular position of an arm 8 which is pivoted, with contacts 1, 2 on an axis 7 thus regulating the arc over which cam 5 actuates contacts 1, 2 in its revolution. An electric motor drives a gear wheel which has a friction clutch member on one face. An electromagnet can give an impulse to slide cam 5 axially to be driven thereafter by the friction clutch. In its axial movement a pin 11 on cam 5 is removed from a hole 11<SP>1</SP> in stationary cam 9 so that cam 5 can be rotated by the friction clutch for revolution until the pin again falls into hole 111.
