559,483. Grinding drills. ROBERTS, BLACK & CO., Ltd., and NEWBY, J. T. July 14, 1942; No. 9750. [Class 60] A "pin" drill grinding device comprises a body part a adapted to be held in a vee-steady attachment of a tool and cutter grinder or universal grinding machine at the required angle and a drill socket e which is rotatably and slidably mounted in the part a and is fitted with a face cam f held in engagement with a stud c on a flange b on the part a by a spring arranged between the part a and a knurled turning knob k at the rear end of the socket. The face cam f is formed with steps corresponding to the number of flutes in the drill and is removably attached to the part e by a grub-screw g. The part a and socket e are formed with slots d, j for the passage of a drift to remove the drill after grinding.
