Abstract

558,909. Building frameworks ; collapsable huts. SPEEDWELL GEAR CASE CO., Ltd., and SUTTON, C. Sept. 21, 1942, No. 13260. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii)] Main frame members for buildings are connected together by junction plates with lateral extensions placed against one or both sides of the frame members and detachably secured thereto and to each other when doubled. The frame members 10, 11 are of metal which may be of flanged channel section 15 with reverted channel portions 17 and the outer junction plates 19 are provided with impressed portions 21 which abut against the base and the sides of the channels 17, the plates and frame members being detachably secured together by bolts 28. Inner plates 23 with impressed portions 27 to fit inside the main channels 15 may be used in conjunction with the outer junction plates and the whole secured together by removable fastenings, such as bolts. Jointing arrangements for corners, crossmembers, and inclined members for roof constructions are shown. At the ridge of a roof inner and outer bent sheet metal angle plates are used secured through the roof members by bolts.
