Abstract

558,737. Building-blocks. WORTHINGTON, W. J., and BODGER, F. W. March 17, 1943, No. 4313. [Class 87 (i)] Building blocks are of trough section having side walls 11 and one or more downwardly extending intermediate ribs 16 of less depth than the side walls and one or more upwardly extending ribs 17 also of less depth opposite the rib or ribs 16 the combined depth of the ribs 16, 17 being the same as that of the side walls. The rib 17 may be of bulbous section 18 or formed with a slot or hole 19 for carrying. In the wall construc'ion shown there are mortar joints 23, 24, 25 between the walls and ribs and there are also employed T-section bottom blocks 27 and U- section upper blocks 31. Mortar grooves extend all around the edges of the side walls and ribs and one of the side walls 11 has a bottom ledge 14 to throw off rain.
