557,621. Catalytic hvdrogenation of oils. LEVER BROS. & UNILEVER; Ltd. March 30, 1942, No. 4200. Convention date, April 2, 1941. Addition to 557,618. [Class 1 (i)] Glyceride oils are hydrogenated in two stages, firstly at 110-200‹C. using a nickel, cobalt, platinium, or palladium catalyst, and secondly at 130-250‹C. using an oxide catalyst as described in the parent Specification, This consists of an oxide of a heavy metal of Group I or II associated with an oxide of a metal of Group V or VI.
