Abstract

556,624. Spiked plates. GODDIN, E. A. (Timber Engineering Co.). April 13, 1942, No 4835. [Class 89 (ii)] A timber connector of the type comprising a grid 10, 11, 12 with spurs 13 projecting from some of the points of intersection of the arms of the grid, has the vertical height of. the arms 10 greater than the radial width and the width is greater at the points of junction with the spurs than at points 16 between them. The junctions are filleted as shown in Fig. 4. In a modification a square grid is employed. The side surfaces converging to the cutting edges present flat surfaces that resist lateral timber movement.
