Abstract

574,175. Ice skates. SIM, W., and SHIELDS, K. M. Jan. 8, 1944, No. 402. [Class 132 (i)] The forward extremity of the blade 1 is formed with a depending spike 2 and, at a short distance behind the spike, an inwardly projecting tooth 4 having a plane underface and a forward vertical face to form a transverse edge 5. The tooth is chamfered at the free end and at the other end is chamfered to form a sharp corner. The lug 3 associated with the spike 2 limits penetration of the latter.
