Abstract
555,769. Fusible cut-outs. BESWICK, K. E., BESWICK, D. G. E., and MELBOURN, W. F. March 17, 1942, No. 3546. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse element 1 passes through a baffle 5 at the point 3 at which fusion is to take place, the baffle being of a shape to fit in the cartridge in which the fuse is mounted. The hole 4 through which the fuse passes is eccentric the fuse being bent towards the centre to lie against the opposite faces of the baffle and curved outwardly at 7 towards the straight ends of the fuse. The ends of the fuse may be sheathed in metal 2 flattened or crimped on to it and the sheath may extend round the bends 7 of the element to points near the hole 4. The end parts of the fuse element may be plain or enclosed in insulating beads instead of the metal sheath.
