Abstract

555,189. Safety-razor blades. MONNET, G. Dec. 1, 1942, No. 17109. [Class 30] A safety-razor blade with one or two cutting edges has an adherent coating on one or both sides capable of floating the blade in water. Each layer may consist of small cork particles united by a suitable adhesive which is water resistant. The doubleedged blade 7, Fig. 1, has similar cork layers 13-16 clear of the edges 8, 9 and the slot 12, whilst the single-edged blade 18, Fig. 3, with a cutting edge 17 and backing 19, has the layers 20, 21 extending to the backing 19 but leaving the slots 22-24 clear.
