Abstract

554,923. Resinous condensation products. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 9, 1941, No. 15848. Convention date, Dec. 10, 1940. [Class 2 (iii)] A heat-hardenable moulding composition comprises an aminoplast, a filler and an aryl compound substituted in the nucleus by a sulphonamide radical and a group -NHCONH 2 . The aminoplast may be an aminotriazine-, aminodiazine-, urea-, protein-, aniline-, benzene disulphonamide-, sulphanilamide- or diamide-aldehyde resin. The aryl compound may be p-ureido - phenyl - sulphonamide, p- - ureido - phenyl sulphonphenylamide, p - ureido - phenyl - sulphonpropylamide, p - ureido - phenyl - sulphon - dibutylamide or p - ureido - phenyl - sulphonbenzylamide. A suitable filler is α - cellulose in flock form. A curing accelerator may be added. The aryl compound may be incorporated in the resin with the reactants during or after formation of the partial condensation product or during the preparation of the moulding composition.
