Abstract

554,885. Refrigerators. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. June 1, 1942, No. 7429. Convention date, May 7, 1941. [Class 29] The motor-compressor unit 19 is resiliently supported by tension springs 33 from a V-shaped bracket 32 rigidly secured to the border flanges of a plate 20 carrying the condenser coil 29 at the back of the cabinet. The bracket has pressed-out lugs 36, to which the upper ends of the springs are hooked, and the lower ends of the springs are hooked into bosses 38, Fig. 4, attached to the compressor unit casing. To limit the stress on the springs during transport of the cabinet, the bosses 38 carry nipples 44 passing through openings in rubber &c. groummets 43 annularly grooved to engage openings in the sides 23 of the bracket, and lateral displacement of the unit is limited by discs 41 at the outside of the grommets.
