[Class 140] In a method of forming compound material by securing together two or more sheets by means of a synthetic resin embodying a plasticizer, two flexible films in web form of cellulose acetate or other cellulose derivative or of a synthetic resin are coated by applying to one web a solution of a synthetic resin free from admixture with a plasticizer, evaporating the solvent, applying to the other web a coating of a plasticizer for the resin and uniting the two webs by pressure. The resin adhesive used may comprise vinyl or acrylic resins and the plasticizer may be dimethyl-phthalate, dibutylphthalate, tricresyl-phosphate or ethyl-lactate and a reinforcement of wire mesh. cotton net or other reticulated material may be sandwiched between the webs.
