553,250. Lifting root crops. KRAUS, G., and GROW MORE UTILITIES, Ltd. Dec. 30, 1941, No. 16773. [Class 6 (iii)] Crops are harvested by a machine comprising a share with a pointed and ridged nose piece B and bevelled side members C mounted on a triangular frame A. A keel-plate D makes a vertical cut in the ground and imparts lateral steadiness. Haulage means is attached to the post E, and steering effected by the handles F. The side members C are preferably provided with sharp-edged facings to sever the tap-roots beneath the tubers &c.
