Abstract
553,042. Scarves. FISCHL, W. March 2, 1942, No. 2733. [Classes 63 and 141] A scarf 1 is made in the form of a square, preferably of two different colours 9, 10, and with an opening 4 along one diagonal closable by two sliding clasp fasteners 5, 6. The scarf may be folded about this diagonal and worn with either colour showing, or the fasteners may be moved to allow the opening 4 to be slipped over the head, the fasteners then being closed as far as possible so that the article forms a neck apron to protect the neck; it may be worn either under the coat, or over a dress as a made-up cape. By slipping the face only through the opening, and suitably binding the free corners, the scarf may serve as a cap or turban, or, if of waterproof material, as a bathing cap. The scarf may have another opening extending along the other diagonal and closable by two other sliding clasp fastners. In another form, the scarf is in the form of a long rectangle, with the opening extending longitudinally.
