Abstract
552,729. Magnifying. KIESCHKE, W. Dec. 16, 1941, No. 16197. [Class 97 (i)] A lens frame 14 (shown in plan in Fig. 3) is supported before the eyes and so as to be removable from the lines of sights, by means of a base plate 10 secured on the forehead of the wearer, being hinged to the base plate about two or more parallel axes. As shown, two links 20, 21 engage the ends of pins 23, 24 passing through lugs 11, 19, and are adjustably connected by a screw 22 to provide a double hinge permitting the frame 14 to be turned upwards in front of the forehead and held there. Both the frame 14 and base plate 10 may be made of synthetic resin, the frame having top and side flanges 16, 17, Fig. 6, extending rearwardly, and the plate 10 having slots 12 receiving a flexible elastic or other head band 13. Each lens 15 is secured in a rabeted aperture by a plate 26 common to both apertures and having flanges 27 extending therein, the plate being secured by screws.
