552,691. Loom picking-motions. SMITH, R. H., and SHACKLETON, G. W. Nov. 5, 1941, No. 14231. [Class 142 (iii)] A picking-motion for an under-pick loom comprises a cam 1 engaging a bowl 2 at the end of one arm 3 of a bell crank lever mounted upon a shaft 5 parallel with the low shaft 4, the second arm 4 of the bell crank lever propelling the picking stick 11. The bell crank lever may be replaced by two levers. The arm 4 actuates the picking stick 11 through a clutch comprising a ratchet tooth 9 mounted on an arm 10 and controlled by a rod 12 so as to be put into and out of engagement with an abutment 8 on the arm 4.
