552,249. Packing. WATERS, H. F. Nov. 18, 1940, No. 9143/42. Divided out of 546,782. [Class 94 (i)] A package containing material such as coffee which evolves gas on standing includes a sealed container made of rubber which is uncured or only partly cured so that it is substantially impervious to air but relatively pervious to the gas evolved by the material. The package may comprise an outer bag 10 of paper, a lining 11 of un. cured rubber, and an inner lining 12 of grease-resisting material which prevents vola. tile oils in the coffee 13 from attacking the rubber. The lining 12 is closed but not sealed, but the lining 11 and the bag 10 are closed and sealed preferably in the manner described in Specification 546,782. The coffee may be packed in a number of small bags enclosed in an outer package. Each of the small bags may be made of grease resisting material with or without an outer covering of uncured rubber.
