[Class 1 (i)] Chemical reaction mixtures which are difficult to stir are heated to reaction temperature by irradiation with infra-red rays of wave-lengths of 10,000-16,000 A. The manufacture of sulphur dyestuffs and phthalocyanines is referred to.
