Abstract

551,558. Thermal switches. BEST PRODUCTS, Ltd., and BEST, F. L. Aug. 22, 1941, No. 10758. Addition to 528,682. [Class 38 (v)] In the safety device for immersion heaters described in the parent Specification, a spring is restrained from ejecting a coupling by securing two relatively moving parts by means of fusible metal. One or both parts are now formed so as to provide a keying surface for the fusible metal. A rotating part 17 is held in a bush 19 by solder in a chamber 22 which keys itself on solidifying in a slot 21 formed in the end of the shaft 17. The bush 19 may have a slot 23 formed in it. In modifications the shaft has flats on its end or is screwthreaded or has an eccentric pin all for the same purpose.
