Abstract
549,759. Displaying. TOURTEL, J. W. Dec. 30, 1941, No. 16771. [Classes 3 (ii) and 116] The display at a shop window is changed by mounting it so that it can be displaced upward or downward out of sight. Conveniently two superposed display cabinets A, B are combined together, so that when the lower is in position for being viewed from street level, the upper is at the first floor level, and its display can be altered, if desired, while out of sight of the public. When the combine d cabinets are lowered to bring the upper one to street level, the lower is located in the basement, and can then similarly be changed if desired. The movement may be effected by mounting the cabinets on four vertical screws 14 geared through cross shafts 16 to a power shaft 18. In a simplified form the cabinets may comprise two floors only, without enclosing walls or access doors. The electric driving motor may be automatically switched off just before the cabinets reach their top and bottom positions, and means for manually racking them into final register may be provided.
