Abstract

547,369. Holding devices. LEIGH, E., and ROTHERHAM, E. April 17, 1941, No. 5016. [Class 61 (ii)] A lamp extractor comprises a triangular base plate, jaw carrying members hinged intermediate their ends to pivots provided on the upturned corners of the base plate and normally held in open position by tension springs, shoes vertically pivoted to the jaw carrying members of tubular steel and chamfered at the upper end to provide sharp edged means for extracting the cap of a broken lamp and lined partly spherical jaws attached to the shoes by wing nuts, the assembly being attached by a socket &c. to a long pole &c. and operated by a spiral spring attached to the three jaw carrying members and connected to a control wire or cord terminating in a rod adapted to be gripped by a clamp bolt and nut passing through the pole &c.
