Abstract
546,505. Valve circuits. KHARBANDA, S. R. R., GOODALL, M. C., and PYE, Ltd. March 21, 1941, No. 3870. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In an ultra high frequency receiving arrangement, the modulated oscillations received on a dipole 3 are passed through the cathode 2 of a valve 1 to vary the emission in accordance with the received oscillations, the rectified output being taken from a load resistance 9 in the anode circuit. The cathode is heated by direct current from a battery 4 through inductances 5, 6. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), for centimetre waves the dipoles are inside the valve envelope. The diode may be replaced by a multi-electrode valve which may serve to amplify the detected signal.
