[Class 44] [Also in Group XXVI] To facilitate cleaning and inspection of a rotary or semi-rotary pump, suitable for use in life-boats, the cover 3 is attached to the casing 1 by a quick-release coupling consisting of wedge projections on one part engaging corresponding recesses in the other by a partial turn. The discharge pipe 11 has a rotatable two-way valve 26 operated by a lever 27 pivoted at 33 to the'valve and secured by a pin 31. By removing the pin, the lever can be lifted clear of stops and the valve can be screwed out of 11. The pump may be mounted on either a horizontal or vertical support 22, 23 by jaws 18, 20 carried by a lever 15 pivoted at 16 to the pump and adapted to be swung by a hand screw 17 to move 18 or 20 towards fixed jaws 19 or 21 on the casing 1.
