[Class 115] Davit - releasing gear comprises a hooklever 1, 1a, whose release from the lug 2 is effected by rotation of a longitudinal shaft 11 on to which the locking members 10 are directly secured, one at either end. The members 10 have an oblique or rounded surface 17 which is acted upon by the end 1a of the hook-lever and quickens the release. The shaft 11 is placed in an elevated position in the boat and turned by a lever, which may be at the end or the middle of the shaft. The two locking members 10 may be mounted on the shaft 11 with slight relative angular displacement if the handle is at one end of the shaft.
