Abstract
542,157. Refractories. CORNING GLASS WORKS. Oct. 11, 1940, No. 15164. Convention date, Oct. 11, 1939. [Class 22] A cast refractory article consists of crystalline zirconia in amount over 20 per cent. by weight and beta-alumina, which is formed by adding soda or potassia to alumina. Less than 6 per cent. silica may be present and the total alkali is between 1 and 8 per cent. by weight. Corundum may also be present.
