[Class 36] Method of sealing comprises fixing wires 3 in jig to form cylindrical boundary, soldering a metal rod 1 in the end of the wires, inserting a short length of glass rod within the wires, removing jig, soldering a second metal rod 2 to the other end of the wires and fusing the glass to form a bead 4. The wires may be of Cu-Ni-Fe alloy.
