Abstract
541,070. Electric signalling systems. CAPRONI AERONAUTICA BERGAMASCA., and BRESCIANI, C. March 6, 1940, No. 4225. Convention date, March 7, 1939. [Class 40 (i)] An arrangement of Wheatstone-bridge type for transmitting the angular movements of a magnetic compass comprises two resistances 14, 17 disposed on the edges of rotatable discs 15, 18 and engaging with contact brushes 16, 19, the disc 15 being driven by the compass through gearing 22, 21. The connection to the end of the resistance 14 is made through a torsion spring 20 and the bridge is completed by two fixed or adjustable resistances 11, 12 and a galvanometer or other indicating instrument 13. The disc 18 may be rotated manually to restore the balance, or a motor may be connected up by contacts controlled by the instrument 13 to restore the balance automatically. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the disc 15 may be rotated by means of a handle, and the arrangement may be modified for the transmission of rectilinear movements by providing the resistances 14, 17 on rectilinear supports. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
