Abstract
540,260. Spring mountings. BRITISH THOM SON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. April 25, 1940, No. 7445. Convention date, April 25, 1939. [Class 108 (iii)] A silent spring mounting for supporting the motor-compressor unit of a refrigerating machine comprises upper and lower supports 16, 15 attached respectively to the unit and to the base of the refrigerator casing. Each support comprises a hollow cylinder or has two or more curved arms 18, 19 provided with 'helical grooves 27, 26 to engage the ends of the spring 13. The arms of the support 16 splay outwardly and are pressed in to enclose the spring when the top of the latter has been screwed home. The arms of the lower support 15 take inside the spring. In each case the outer rims of the arms or cylinder are shaped in helical form and terminate between two rims of the spring. The vertical faces of the arms 18, 19 are radial to the arms of the support so that the spring emerges therefrom with maximum abruptness. Specification 7294/10, [Class 108 (iii)], is referred.
