Abstract

539,356. Roof trusses. DONALD, P. G., and ROWNSON, DREW & CLYDESDALE, Ltd. Feb. 2, 1940, No. 2070. [Classes 20 (ii) and 20 (iv)] A roof truss comprises pieces of tubing screw threaded at their ends and secured together at the apex and corners by screwed sockets, each side member being formed of two parts 14, 18 screwing into sockets 15 located intermediately of the ends of the side members and provided with a side lug to which is pivoted a screwed socket 17 to receive the end of a bracing member 25 disposed between the central piece 21 and the socket 15. A central strut 26 screws into the central piece 21 and the ridge piece 10 and the horizontal tie 29 is formed in tubular parts screwing into connecting sockets 30. The parts are assembled and then correctly tensioned by screwing up the tubular members by means of a wrench.
