538,580. Tanks. FIREPROOF TANKS, Ltd., TILTMAN, A. H., and DANIELS, L. S. July 12, 1940, No. 11648. [Class 69 (i)] In a fuel &c. tank with a protective covering of sheet rubber, the sheet is divided into sections by compressing the sheet along lines so that liquid leaking from the tank is impeded from passing from one section to another. A layer of tough rubber b is placed against the tank wall a and outside is a layer c of rubber sponge with a thin skin d of vulcanized rubber on one side, a further layer e of tough rubber being then applied. The composite cover is divided by straight lines of stitching g, or by wires drawn round the tank, to compress the material.
