Abstract

537,617. Paper &c. containers. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Dec. 30, 1939, No. 33112. [Classes 18 and 66] A container, e.g. for liquids, powders or granular substances of the kind made by folding a piece of paper &c. and having a polygonal base 1 with walls 4, 5 upstanding therefrom, and in which a wall 8 or a main wall-forming part is formed contiguously with a wall 4 or 5 by a lateral extension to that wall, has the base 1 and the wall 8 connected by a portion 26 of material which extends into the corner, and which, when the carton is erected, folds about a line 28 and lies in contact with wall 8. A construction is described in which the base is triangular. In another construction the walls constituted by that part of the blank shown which lies to the right of the line 3 are constituted by an extension from the bottom edge of the part of the blank which lies to the left of line 2. In another form panels 14, 21 are not formed with recesses 15. The container may be assembled by glueing and maybe rendered liquidproof by paraffin wax. The mouth may be fastened by a metal strip.
