Abstract

536,624. Fusible cut-outs ; two-part couplings. BRITISH INSULATED CABLES, Ltd., and RAWLINSON, J. Nov. 21, 1939, No. 30468. [Class 38 (i)] A base for a bridge-carrier fuse has contacts pressed upwardly by springs against the fuse which is pressed down against the contacts. The contacts 3 slide on studs 6 screwed into inserts 8 in the base 5 and are supported by springs 9. The contacts are free to align themselves, being confined by partitions 28. A cover 2 that fits over the base has a clip 19 hinged at 21 and secured by a screw 25 to hold the fuse 17. When the cover is applied to the base, studs 15 pass through holes 26 and the cover is pressed down by nuts 16 on the studs to force the end caps 20 of the fuse into tapered recesses 4 in the contacts 3.
