Abstract

536,225. Collapsable containers. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., STANTON, E., and BRENTNALL, G. C. Oct. 6, 1939, No. 27326 [Classes 21 and 66] A collapsable container for liquid fuel &c. comprises a body portion 2 formed of textile fabric rendered liquid-proof by treatment with a vulcanisable composition of rubber or synthetic rubber to which rigid ends 1, for instance dished metal parts, are secured by doubling the flange 3 over the folded ends of the body and turning them in against rings 4. The body may be adapted to collapse by twisting the ends or by forming "concertina" folds in the body, and by vulcanizing it whilst so collapsed is given a "set" " to cause it to tend to maintain the collapsed condition. The container may be of cylindrical or polygonal shape in section.
