[Class 135] [Also in Groups XXXVII and XXXVIII] A fluid control device, which is especially applicable in connection with a " turn " signal for motors comprises a spring-controlled valve 55, Fig. 2, operated by a diaphragm 58 subject to the pressure prevailing in a port 51, connected to the suction manifold 42, Fig. 1, of a motor engine. When the engine is throttled, as when rounding a curve, and the vacuum in port 51 is high the diaphragm 58 is moved to open the valve 55, and air is exhausted from a chamber 46 connected by a nipple 53 and tube 41 to a passage 44, Fig. 4, which hold by suction a disc 26 in a position to which it is adjusted by a handle 34 and gearing. The disc 26 is fitted with two metallic projections 28, 31 (Fig. 3, not shown) which are capable of making contact with insulated pins connected to earth, and which complete the circuit to one of the two lamps 12, 13, according to the direction in which the handle 34 is moved. The lamp is energized so long as the engine throttle is closed but when it is opened and the pressure in the port 51 rises, the valve 55 closes under the action of a spring 56, and at the same time a valve 65 is opened to vent the chamber 46. The seat of valve 65 is adjustable by being screwed into the end 49 of the chamber by a knurled wheel 67 which is held in adjusted position by a spring bolt 69 which engages flutes in the wheel 67. The diaphragm 58 is held in place by a cap 59 formed with an aperture 62 and a disc 63 of porous paper is arranged between the parts 58, 59. The disc 26 is normally held (by springs acting on a projection) in a central position which maintains the circuits to the lamps 12, 13 open.
