Abstract
534,723. Wireless receiving systems. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. Dec. 20, 1939, No. 32618. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] In a receiver for frequency or phase modulated waves, any amplitude modulation is compensated for by rectifying the received energy to obtain such amplitude modulation frequencies, separating these from the carrier frequency by a low-pass filter with negligible resistance, and applying them as negative feed-back to the grid of a previous valve. Part of the output from the intermediate frequency valve Z and filter B2 passes to a stage ST for converting the frequency modulated waves into amplitude modulated currents in the usual manner, and part passes to a pentode D, the cathode-anode path of which acts as a rectifier. The direct-current voltage on the load resistance W is taken off over filter R, C for A.V.C., and the amplitude-modulation frequencies are applied to the first grid of the pentode, the first screen grid acting as anode. The amplified currents are applied via the low-pass filter as negative feed-back direct to the grid of valve Z without the interposition of other circuit elements such as resistances which would increase the time constant. A transformer may be arranged between the filter and the grid of valve Z.
