534,549. Photographic films. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. March 6, 1940, No. 4242. Convention date, March 9, 1939. [Class 98 (ii)] A film consisting wholly or in part of regenerated cellulose is treated with a water-containing solution of a light sensitive substance, and after removal of surplus liquid as by blowing, is coiled for use while the surface only is dry, the body of the film remaining moist. The films may be treated on one side only. It may be a superficially-saponified acetyl cellulose film, and may be sensitized with a solution of a diazonium compound which may also contain a mercurous salt. The solution may be solely aqueous, but its viscosity may be increased as by adding glycerine.
