Abstract

534,513. Magnifying glasses. HORSTMANN, F. G. March 5, 1940, No. 4084. [Class 97 (i)] A magnifying glass 1 is connected by a resilient element 3 to a handle 4, and is provided with a protective guard 5 projecting at least on one side of the glass. The handle may comprise a sleeve on two branches of a single wire forming the resilient element and guard, a frame 2 for the glass being soldered to the wire in a position offset from the axis of the handle. Modifications are described in which the guard is rectangular or comprises two wires perpendicular to the frame 2.
