[Class 136 (i)] The wheel is supported vertically in a frame a having hinged thereto a member d which can be swung down into the dotted line position to rest on:the ground and to serve as a ramp down which the wheel may. be lowered. The member d is clamped against the tyre by a stirrup f having a clamp h. When the clamp is released a spring i swings the stirrup clear as shown in dotted lines. The frame may be situated between the driver's cab and the front portion of a motor vehicle.
