532,432. Wooden boxes. FIDDES, J. Aug. 31, 1939, No. 24943. [Class 18] A box is made in the main from thin wooden boards 11 cut from a solid piece by a process of steaming and slicing, the boards being joined by flexible strips 17 of non-metallic composite material such as container board, leather board, fibre boards or kraft boards secured by adhesive or fasteners, e.g. staples. The lid may be secured by twisting together the ends of a binding wire. The strips may be reinforced at the corners on the outside or on both sides by gummed paper or by gummed layers of kraft paper with thin metal between them.
