531,812. Discharge lamps. BRITISH-THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 3, 1939, No. 22503. Convention date, Aug. 6, 1938. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A glass tube through which a fixed quantity of mercury is introduced into a discharge lamp or other heated receptacle is roughened internally; it is stated that this prevents adhesion of the mercury to the glass. The tube may be frosted, etched, sandblasted, oxidized in air or coated with materials.
