Abstract
531,657. Mounting filaments. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 28, 1939, No. 21980. Convention date, July 29, 1938. [Class 39 (ii) ] A coiled filament 12 is held in jaws 14, 15 and moved into its correct position in relation to a mount 10 by transfer mechanism 13. This mechanism first positions the filament with its ends below positioning fingers 28, 29, which are carried by an anvil 27 in its operative position. The mechanism 13 is then moved upwards as a whole, and the filament is arched while its ends are positioned accurately in angular relation to the leads 40, 41 of the mount. The clamping jaw 42 is then operated and the filament is pressed into the leads, or the filament is united with the leads in other known ways. The filament is then finally shaped, and the end 40<SP>1</SP> of the lead 40 enables the mount to be located accurately in the bulb. Specifications 264,805, [Class 39 (ii)], and 433,033 are referred to.
