Abstract

531,616. Cases for binoculars, cameras &c. PYSER, C. S. July 1, 1939, No. 19240. [Class 18] [Also in Group XX] A carrying case for binoculars, cameras and like instruments. of the kind provided with a sling and a top opening closed by a hinged lid, which can be secured by a fastener, includes a false bottom slidable up and down in the case and directly supporting the instrument, the false bottom being carried by the sling which itself slidably engages the casing. In the case for binoculars shown, the ends of the sling each comprise two straps, 8<SP>1</SP>, 17, the first of which pass through slits 11 in the sides of the case and are attached to a false bottom 14 on which the binoculars rest. The straps 17 pass through openings formed by recesses in the lid and top edge of the casing, and are attached to the binoculars. When the lid is opened the case moves down in relation to the sling and false bottom 14 so that the binoculars project from the top. The straps 17 may be omitted, the binoculars being then separate from the sling. In another form, the straps 17 are shorter than the strap parts 8<SP>1</SP> so that they tend to project the binoculars upwardly when the lid is opened.
