Abstract

531,414. Cabinets. SADOW, R. July 21, 1939, No. 21201. [Class 52 (i)] A sideboard or cabinet has in its upper part, and separated from the cupboard, a stepped well the upper tread 3 of which extends along the sides and back to form a centrally disposed lower tread 6 for the reception of decanters &c. while the tread 3 is formed with recesses 13 for the reception of tumblers &c. The upper part of the front wall 7 is cut away to form a gap 11. An inverted tray-like lid 8, fitted on its inner face with a mirror 9 is hinged to the rear wall 5 and supported in its open position by toggle arms 10. The lid is provided with a frontextension 8a which fits over the gap 11 when closed. In the front wall of the sideboard and on each side of the well are provided slidably mounted shelves having beaded front ends 16.
