531,328. Feeding cut tobacco. MOLINS, D. W., RUAU, F. F., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. July 18, 1939, No. 20847. Drawings to Specification. [Class 130] In apparatus for feeding cut tobacco in which the tobacco is carried by an endless carded conveyer or roller, a receptacle for shorts has a multi-apertured bottom arranged above the teeth of the conveyor and is mounted for movement transversely of the conveyer so that shorts passing through the apertures are distributed over the surface of the conveyer. The apparatus is that described in Specification 531,327 with reference to Figs. 1 to 3. The tobacco on the conveyer, before being moved beneath the receptacle, may be trimmed by a separating device as described in Specification 520,178. Specifications 385,210, 394,809 and 446,701 also are referred to.
