Abstract
530,978. Fusible cut-outs. CRABTREE & CO., Ltd., J. A., McLOUGHLIN, H. F., and HILL, W. E. June 22, 1939, No. 18170. [Class 38 (i)] A cartridge fuse c, which may be of the kind described in Specification 530,352 is inserted into its holder by depression and partial rotation, the contacts being shrouded and locked when engaged. The cartridge contacts consist of the cap e at one end, and a pair of arms n<1> at the other end, the arms being bent from a member n recessed at the centre to receive the cap el and secured by a rivet in a recess m in an insulating knob. The holder contacts consist of a spring blade d and a ring f having gaps p<1> for the passage of the arms n<1> and ramps q at one side of the gaps over which the arms pass into the locked position, and shrouds r at the other side of the gaps to act as stops. A pair of such fuses may be combined with a switch of the kind described in Specification 522,318, [Group XXXVII], and a casing having the features described in Specification 521,893, [Group XV], or 521,936, [Group XXXVII], may be employed.
