Abstract

529,611. Retaining valve seats. WELLWORTHY PISTON RINGS, Ltd., and GRAHAME, C. D. June 5, 1939, No. 16415. [Class 7 (ii)] A valve seat insert 11 is retained in position by a spring steel wire 14 engaging a groove 12 in the outer periphery of the insert the width of the groove not exceeding onequarter of the axial dimension of the insert The wire also engages a corresponding groove in the recess into which the insert is fitted. The wire may be wavy or corrugated, and may be of round cross-section, the grooves being correspondingly radiused. Specifications 352,856, 380,195 and 392,432 are referred to.
