529,266. Scissors. SELLER, J. F., OSBORNE, C., and MOORE & OSBORNE, Ltd., W. May 26, 1939, No. 15617. [Class 30] A guard-plate or sheath is provided for the work-contacting blade of scissors so as to extend along and project beyond the cutting edge. The sheath b has a funnel end b<SP>1</SP> covering the point end of the blade and is secured by a screw h to the blade. A sheath may be provided for both blades. To make the sheath adjustable, it has two inclined slots d, e engaged by a pin i and the screw h respectively, the slots being curved at one end to give a final adjustment. Different thicknesses of sheath may be provided for different classes of goods. According to the Provisional Specification, the sheath may also be adjusted by set screws at the outer non-cutting edge of the blade.
